Caroline Taylor-Knight was born in a small country town 600 kilometres west of Sydney. Her introduction to the spotlight came at 10 years old when she performed solo in front of 1,000 people from her local community and soon many low key performances followed. Caroline did modelling and acting in her late teens, whilst completing her Marketing degree but it soon became apparent that her true love had been music all along. Since then, she has written and released an independent EP, which generated interest from a number of record companies and publishers and was aired on several commercial radio stations. She was also nominated for Best New Talent at the QRA (Queensland Recording Association) Awards in Brisbane.
It also sparked the interest of a Gold Coast events co-coordinator, who promptly placed her as the support act for Daryl Braithwaite. Exceedingly impressed by Caroline's performance, the said promoter immediately offered her supports for both Vanessa Amorosi and James Morrison's upcoming concerts. After Daryl's concert, numerous local record stores phoned the promoter, asking if Caroline had a CD available, as they had been flooded with customers asking to purchase her album. Caroline was also booked to launch Australia Post's Rock Australia Stamp series and organisers were so impressed that they invited her to perform four songs (including one of her originals) to open a major football game in Brisbane for a stadium crowd of 20,000 people. The show was incredibly well received.
Fuelled by this success and attracting the attention of award-winning producer Duncan Wood (both professionally and personally), Caroline has put her heart and soul into recording her recently released debut album Fall for Me, on which she wrote or co-wrote all but one of the eleven tracks. Fall for Me is now available to order in good music stores nationally in Australia, on iTunes and through her website at www.carolinetaylorknight.com . She has also visited the USA for a songwriters convention, Cannes in France for Midem (major music trade show) and the Hong Kong Music Fair in Hong Kong. Her recent performances include the Caboolture Cultural Forum, Queensland Music Festival's Caboolture Drumming (4000 people attended), her album launch, WAM Fest, New Zealand's Parachute 06 Festival and the Songwriters' Cafe at the Urban Country Music Festival in May 07. Caroline has been featured two issues of Talent magazine in Australia and received a glowing album review in January's Capital News (the largest national country magazine in Australia). She is also on high rotation on radio in seven national retail chains including Kmart and receiving airplay across Australia on country and community radio (as well as on cable TV radio stations) and internationally on Internet Radio. Caroline will soon be filming a music video for her first single and begin pre-production on a Live DVD, followed by more shows and tours. 2007 is shaping up to be a big year for this talented artist.
