A former professional soccer player, Dane Sharp’s knee was shattered along with his dreams. However, in a life changing moment, a friend gave him an old guitar for comfort and he was soon busking and playing backyard parties.
From there it was a natural progression to open mic nights, restaurants then bars and touring trips out west, also playing in a duo “Country Bound†honing his Country rhythms.
In January 2006, Dane played a series of shows in Nashville and worked with some of country music’s leading songwriters and musicians, such as Luann Reid (Kenny Chesney) and Brett Manning (Keith Urban).
Recently signing to independent label Touchwood Productions, Dane is currently working with award-winning producer Duncan Wood on his forth-coming album, due for release in November 2007. The first single, Nothing to Lose, is sure to whet the appetites of all who hear it.
A big thank goes out to John Taylor and Michael Muchow for their great work on the pre production of Dane's Demo album which lead him to being signed by Touchwood Productions.
The new Album produced by Duncan Wood of Touchwood Productions is shaping up to be a World Class album that Dane is so excited about. Impressed by Michael's guitar work on the demo, Duncan has tried to keep a
lot of the original guitar tracks from the demo on the new Production.
With the official release being November 2007 and the first Video Clip, also produced by the Touchwood label, due on CMC at the same time, 2007/2008 is promising to be a big year for Dane Sharp.
