Rock 107, am I the one hundred and seventh caller?

About Me

I was born and raised here in Reno, NV. Did a lot of writing and playing at that liberal arts school on the East Coast. I busked a few times in Japan, and have played many an open mic. Now I'm looking to put something together again (not Humpty Dumpty!) and get this show on the road...

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/cecilsrefrain
Band Members: So far it's just me, Chuck McCumber, on this original stuff. I've played a song or two with my previous cover band, "Downdraft", in Columbia, MO but all the recordings on this site were performed by me, myself, and Irene.
Influences: I listen to a large span of music (jazz, rock, classical, metal, blues, older country, new age) and so I'm not sure I can pinpoint what influences me to write what I write. Basically I like to write things that sound pretty, or things that have a cool groove, or hopefully some combination of the two. I'm ultimately trying to create my own sound, but I can't write off favorites like:
Albinoni
Louis Armstrong
The Beatles
Beethoven
Jeff Buckley
Sarah Brightman
Chris Cornell
Clannad
Eric Clapton
Nat King Cole
John Coltrane
Cornet Chop Suey
Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young
Dream Theater
Fleetwood Mac
Michael Hedges
Lauryn Hill
Billie Holiday
George Harrison
The Ink Spots

Busking in Japan

(Busking) - for all of us non brits - is playing like a homeless man, au natural :)Well, I have given it a shot, twice now, and it's pretty damn fun. I started near "home" in Omiya, up above the bus ...
