Songwriters Exchange

showcasing the best local and touring artists

About Me

The Brooklyn Songwriters Exchange is a monthly music series showcasing the best in local and touring songwriters.
"Talented local singer-songwriter Rebecca Pronsky hosts... a cozy evening of song-sharing with a few hand picked, able locals." - TIME OUT NY
"The evening is a way to tap into the legions of local musicians, singers and songwriters... as well talented musicians from outside the city [in] a comfortable, small venue." - NY DAILY NEWS
"a weekly series bringing together talented out-of-towners and locals." - THE NEW YORKER
"an exciting evening of folk-pop music." - BROOKLYN COURIER
Brooklyn native and songwriter Rebecca Pronsky founded the Brooklyn Songwriters Exchange in the fall of 2005 to encourage community and support among songwriters in New York City. The series has been running two years now and happens every Sunday Park Slope at the Brooklyn Lyceum.
"First Sundays" are held in the Lyceum's cavernous downstairs space. These shows feature non-traditional acts and bands with a $10 cover. At first Sundays, we introduce the artist-in-residence of the month.
2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays will be held in the main-level mezzanine space which is more intimate and best for solo/duo performers. Cover charge is $5. These shows are hosted and often curated by the monthly artist in residence, who also performs at each show.
FALL SHOWS BEGIN AT a new time: 7PM
The Brooklyn Lyceum is a unique, multi-discipline performance space located right in Park Slope on 4th Ave and President St, one block from the R train stop at Union St and close to many other subways and busses. It's one block from the many great bars and restaurants on 5th Ave.
