"I know that human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully" - so starts the CD, "Bushwacked" by Arizona artist, Tempemonon. The music is rock/pop/alternative for all the tracks except the opening title track, 'Bushwacked'. This tune includes dozens of sound bytes from President Bush - one of the most inarticulate public speakers we've seen as leader of the free world. Tempemonon sets the quotes to a synth groove and could be a dance floor favorite if the low end pumps continuously. Track 2, "Camptown Girls", has a TMBG meets the Ramones feel to it wrapped up in a poppy progressive tune. "Texas Jack", track 7, uses a dynamic device that has the tune starting and stopping. The direct to board guitar distortion adds a unique quality to the song - and the vocals are processed with a matching bull horn track. The band saves the best tunes for last, as track 8 and 10 turn out to be our favorites - 'Lay the Whiskey Down' and 'Time Will Pass Us By'. The latter of which takes a piano and organ sound with a terrific vocal performance that takes advantage of the lead vocalist's compelling tone and easy falsetto movement. The tune is really a fine song - with solid melody and lyric ... good stuff.
