About Me

II D Extreme, comprised of Randy Gill, Jermaine Mickey, and D' Extra Wiley, stands out with a unique sound and flair unlike any other group emerging from the surge of New Jack R&B artists in the 90s. Sage Lee was added to the group in 1998, turning melodious 3-part harmony into 4-part harmony perfection.
II D Extreme converged onto the music scene as an unsigned group with what was later to become a history-making single they wrote and arranged, "Cry No More." Superjock Paco Lopez played the song, then still an un-mastered demo, on the air on WPGC in the groups hometown of Washington, D.C. The response to the song was epidemic with demand for airplay of the song spreading nationwide while the group was still unsigned. Their highly anticipated debut album, II D Extreme, was released several months after the demo hit the airwaves and sold enough units to earn Cry No More the prestigious status of RIAA-certified Gold.
Cry No More also made top 15 crossover, ..1 and ..5 on the Radio & Records and Billboard charts. It spent 4 weeks at ..1 on BET's Video Soul countdown, 7 weeks at ..1 on Jet Magazines top charts, garnered a Soul Train Music Awards nomination, and received an ASCAP award for Best Urban Debut Song. Back at home in D.C., II D Extreme received a Wammie Award for best emerging artist. No other single recorded by a non-labeled R & B artist has enjoyed the unique distinction of achieving such status and acclaim in decades. The made soundtrack and movie artists performance such as "Blankman" movie. and worked with icons and legendary artist such as Teddy Pendergrass as well as American music award winner jazz great Boney James.
II D Extreme's music is founded in strong gospel-influenced vocals, romantic lyrics and infectious grooves that make their live performances spellbinding. The group has appeared on Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall, Soul Train, BET, MTV, and a host of other television and live performances. Behind the scenes, these men are known to be a humble, friendly, and a humorously crazy bunch.
The dissipation of their record label, Gasoline alley/MCA, ultimately led to the group's recent hiatus as the members all pursued their individual interests.
Randy Gill is currently finishing his hot solo effort. He is writing and producing his project as well as other artists. He also provides session work for a variety of artists. He is a body biulder and trainer as well.
Jermaine Mickey has been creative in the gospel arena working with groups and choirs.
Sage Lee is a part of the production team "5th Lnmnt" and is working with a stable of artists.
D'Extra Wiley, a former Marching Spartan drummer/student at Norfolk State University who also studied communication courses at Howard University, is an accomplished producer and screenplay writer as well as a talented vocalist. D'Extra has appeared as an actor in stageplays, television commercials and on several television shows including the hit daytime drama "Young and the Restless". Currently, he is producing several hip-hop and R&B acts, with the likes of Marvin Gaye III. D'Extra is also busy producing his own family's urban gospel project, "The Wileys". He has, and is still creating music for film and t.v. including the theme song for popular primetime sitcom "The Hugleys."
II D Extreme still committed to and has begun creating new music that will reflect their personal experiences and growth.
II D Extreme would like to thank, first God, for all reasons, and then to all the fans, who constantly support them and tug at their heartstrings with the non-stop requesting of another II D Extreme cd and performance.
We think it's about that time...
