A bit about me...

Hey there thanks for visiting my page!
I go by the name Miss M and I'm a singer/songwriting from Sydney, Australia.
I've sung for as long as I could remember and performing was something I always wanted to do. Perhaps it was the influence of the typical Asian past-time of karaoke! =P
In school I was always singing. I was part of the church choir and also won the school talent quest in my final year. In earlier years I took acting classes at the Australian Theatre for Young People.
My first big performance came right after high school when, after a successful audition, performed as part of a group 'Heaven Scent' at Sydney's Fox Studios, even writing one of the tracks.
I took a 4 year 'break' from singing to study full-time at university. During this time I still managed to get offered a few gigs which gave me great exposure that led to many gigs later on.
It felt like a lifetime but it wasn't long before I was able to graduate from the University of New South Wales with a combined B Science/B Commerce degree majoring in Mathematics and Actuarial Studies. A week after my final exam I took up my first 'real' job as a Business Analyst which is what I still do full-time.
No longer having to study and complete assignments, I now had the time to put my focus on my music. So during the day I'm working hard at the numbers and spreadsheets, but when I come home at night I'm there working on my songs and rehearsing for gigs.
I love performing and interacting with people from all kinds of backgrounds. It never fails to amaze me how one can connect with complete strangers through music - performing is addictive! Performing has led me to meet some wonderful and amazing people both in and outside of the 'industry'.
I've been fortunate to have great support from people all around: strangers in the crowd, MySpace friends, fellow artists and respected people in the music scene. It is from this continued support that allows me to continue to 'get myself out there'.
In the past I've performed in many places around Sydney and also Melbourne, Gold Coast and even London. I've been privileged to record with and/or perform alongside some great performers including Kenny Hoods, Vice Verser , Natz Blazin, 6 Pound and Israel .

On Monday nights you will find me scurrying from work to the local radio station for The Flygirl Tee Show . It is a show on community radio that also features DJ Flygirl Tee (naturally!), DJ C-Bu , !llnana and many specials guests that have included Nurse Franci , DJ Spin Easy, DJ Peter Gunz , DJ Mike Hyper , Montell Jordan, Chong-Nee , P-Money, Dei Hamo and Weapon X & Ken Hell just to name a few!!
So if you're in Sydney, make sure you tune in to The Flygirl Tee Show on Monday nights from 9-11pm on 88.1FM to hear 'nuthin but the craziest hip hop and rnb!'
(Reception is not too hot in some areas but you should be able to hear it via the radio on your mobile phone!)
