I've been in the independent magazine publishing game for nearly 8 years and created Australasia's first and longest running free hip hop magazine 'Out4Fame' During that time my company also produced many hip hop tours and events including the Australia Vs New Zealand MC Battle For Supremacy. Noteably the winner of 2005s MC Battle For Supremacy 'Justice' went on to take out the world's biggest MC Battle 'Scribble Jam' in Ohio USA.
I am partners in record label 'Solid State Recordings' - Last year we released the debut album 'Sneakerpimpin Aint Easy' by Weapon X and Ken Hell (Out now through Illusive Sounds). X & Hell have twice been nominated for Best Urban Release at the Aria Awards. Solid State has since signed Justice & Kaos and released their debut EP through Warner in July 07. Justice & Kaos won 'Best New Talent' at the 2007 Urban Music Awards. The amazingly talented rapper GMC has signed to Solid State and has begun touring with the rest of our roster and working on his debut Mixtape. DJ A-Style is our latest Solid State signing and recently became the 2007 Victorian DMC Champion. The FOB Mixtape featuring Justice & Kaos, GMC and DJ Simon Sez is circulating now and is the subject of a documentary scheduled to air next year on SBS.Our first news stand title 'ACCLAIM Magazine'hit shelves just before Christmas 2005 and issue 8 is out now. ACCLAIM is a street lifestyle magazine covering everything from hip hop music through to martial arts, skating, cars, street art, sport, tattoos, fashion & sneakers. There are few limitations to the content really. Please support and go cop it from your local newsagent in the Men's Lifestyle section (of course girls are welcome to purchase too :).IAA (Illusive Artist Agency) has launched as a partership between myself and Illusive Entertainment. Pretty self explanatary really but basically an agency dedicated to booking shows for Australian based Urban artists. check out www.illusive.com.au to glimpse our roster.
Heaps more on the horizon because I never sleep! Stay tuned to this space for more updates.
