I am a musician/writer I play in a punk band called THE STRAPS formed in 1977 in the UK . I am now doing solo material which is experimental.I am also writing my first book about the whole experience.here is a taster as to what its about b ..eing a punk and playing in the band.THERES TOO MUCH NOISE IN HEREAN INTRODUCTION to my forthcomming bookThis is a short but true story of the events of my life.It begins in the outskirts of GLASGOW, a place very dear to my heart, rough and ready as it is. I am very proud of my so called 'working class roots', however, I despise the very idea of putting people into separate little categories. I will also be touching on the struggles my mother faced as a single mother in the seventies, and how she, my two sisters and I, coped with my fathers incurable illness.N, IRELAND is not the only country nearby that is plagued with sectarianism; growing up in Glasgow as a protestant boy I should know, and believe me it is still rife! Gang fights were also a major factor back then and probably still are today, if your face didn't fit in in a certain area of the city you had to be ready to run - and I mean run!Getting work back in the seventies was a nightmare; you either had a trade where you earned reasonable dosh, or you were an apprentice 'DOGS BODY'-' TEA BOY', if you were young and stupid enough to take orders from bullies! You see, these guys were just older versions of the school bully, which most of us have had the misfortune to come across. Nowadays the majority of the BRITISH public has a job and the mass unemployment from the seventies have, thank God, been left behind- instead, most of the working class (awful term) are slaving at super store check outs, etc for the minimum wage; what a fuckin insult!Some of the following pages will displaying my anger and frustrations, with the politics forced upon us by the big men in suites.As I left my beloved Glasgow behind, I moved to LONDON arriving as a fresh faced GLASGOW punk rocker, I then found a new struggle, SURVIVAL and the difficulties of finding food and shelter, An extraordinary twist of fate then entered my life and a whole new chapter began for me as performing in a punk rock band and short bouts of acting, and meeting many famous and infamous people changed my life for good.
