Tall Young Men

the bastard children of the "greatest generation"

About Me

Tall Young Men have finished recording their debut CD, "Saint Record," in Seattle, Chicago, Petersburg and cyberspace.
The mixing process will be completed by Feb 1, while touring and cyber stops are being finalized. The band grew out of a life long obsession between Brick and Tedd... one based mostly on the Jam, a Gang of Four show they both saw in the eighties and the Supremes. Tedd has a penchant for Black Leather and Brick is partial to sweaters, t-shirts and sport coats, so it is a marriage made in heaven.... Tedd loves the Stones and Muse... Brick likes Patti Smith, Tricky, Levon Helm, the Who and Sigur Ros... Tedd wore finger nail polish in High School, Brick was blamed for putting him up to it and never forgot or forgave him for it. Tedd refuses to confess his voice has changed since he moved to Seattle... Brick refuses to accept that he doesn't live in California anymore. It is rumored that neither Tall Young Men have tattoos... hopefully this won't be held against them.
One day Brick and Tedd were on a Subway in NYC and one of them said much like a wedding proposal, "I think we should finish that damn CD... and take back control over our lives..." The other agreed and now they are stuck with each other meeting in places that have often been rumored but never proven.

During the process they agreed on a simple rule... "if it sounds like Gang of Four having a roll around with Roxy Music or Tom Verlaine had he been in Prefab Sprout let's keep it!"

Brick lists his guilty pleasures as The Cardigans and getting liquor in the mail from French DJs...
Tedd says he's guilty of most pleasures and will try to keep an open mind about The Cardigans.
Both of them really like to dance.

There are a ridiculous number of places for bands to protmote themselves these days and we're not too proud to whore ourselves for the cause...

Here are 2 of the places we've recently signed up!

Tall Young Men at last.fm (This could be our favorite place to discover music, not sure yet, but we have a feeling)

Tall Young Men at ilike

Anyway, we've just started, but hell, who can keep up with it? We have no fans on those places, but who cares, between Myspace and Facebook, each Tall Young Men member has enough new girlfriends in Europe and Seattle to keep us busy for quite some time... but, what's a boy to do? Brick has always wanted to go to Reykjavík... make him an offer.... Tedd seems to be settling down, but his phone is always on vibrate, so we're suspicious.

What any of this has to do with rock-n-roll, we have no idea, but it has been amazing meeting so many great people around the world and getting hear new music in so many styles... isn't that enough? Apparently not, so buy something dammit!!!
