The year of 2006 has served as a launching pad for this talented young artist. What started as a way to fill some free time has lead to six Colgate Country Showdown finals, Nashville Star semi-finals, nation wide TV appearance, and a flag flown over Baghdad in honor of her song, â€Coming Home.â€................Charlie Davis' vocal style, which has been said is a combination of Dolly and Alison Krauss, has opened many doors. After all, Dolly and Alison have quite a few grammy's between them so why not sound like the best. Charlie's vocal ability was encouraged by Dr. Harris of Drury University who said, “In his 40 years of teaching, he has never heard a more angelic voice.†While at Drury on vocal, theatre, instrumental, and academic scholarships, Charlie was named co-captain of the dance team; you know the girls that shake it at half time! She was also named outstanding supporting actress her freshman and sophomore year. Charlie's love for the stage can probably be traced back to when she was 10 years old performing in a Christmas Show at a major Branson theatre................................Besides the afore mentioned artistic talents, she has a few athletic bones. She received letters in volleyball, basketball, track, and even softball before concentrating on the performing arts her last two years of high school...........................Charlie Elizabeth Runnels was born in Beaumont, Texas in 1985 and moved to Missouri in the early 90's. She now performs under the name Charlie Davis to honor her step-dad. She lives on an Angus cattle ranch with her family and can be found helping out either driving a tractor or working with the cattle. She enjoys competing in the Miss Missouri/America pageants where she performs her original music as her talent and shows off her farm girl muscles in the swimsuit! Charlie was encouraged to participate after she performed in a show with former Miss Missouri, Jennifer Hover White. Still unconvinced, it took a Miss Missouri program falling from the sky and landing on the farm, a result of tornadoes 50 miles away to get her to enter her first pageant..............................Throw all these combination of talents into a pretty package, add some natural-musical ability,a couple of hard knocks, vivid imagination, and you have come up with a songwriting chef that is cooking on high heat! Don't miss your opportunity to see her when you can!
