Martin started Djing in 1988 and started playing out in the early 1990`s on pirate radio stations RADIO ACTIVE & GREEN APPLE and in various warehouses and fields up and down the country. He played for sound systems such as POD, SWEAT, RUFF CREW, SPIRAL TRIBE, CIRCUS WARP, SUNRISE in places such as STROUD, CASSINGTON, CASTLEMORTON, CAMBERWELL, OXFORDSHIRE, CHOBHAM COMMON.
In 1996 Martin helped set up VINYL ADDICTION RECORDS in London which housed FINGER LICKIN RECORDS, he was one of the driving forces/buyer for over 6 years. He supplied BREAKBEAT, HOUSE and TECHNO to such DJs as JUNGLE BROTHERS, FREESTYLERS, PLUMP DJ s, ARMAND VAN HELDEN, PEACE DIVISION, SANCHO PANZA DJ s, PAUL DALEY, ARTHUR BAKER, NORMAN COOK, BARRY ASHWORTH, JON CARTER, FINGER LICKIN DJ s. Martin helped build Vinyl Addiction into a world renowned place to buy Breakbeat selling stacks of FRESKANOVA, FUSED & BRUISED, KING SIZE, WHOLE NINE YARDS, and TCR records, He also found and stocked hundreds of copies of AZZIDO DA BASS-DOOMS NIGHT (TIMO MAAS REMIX) while working at VINYL ADDICTION a year before it got a full release first giving it to DJs such as The PLUMPS and FREQ NASTY and the rest is history... Martin then left VINYL ADDICTION in 2002 and started a record shop also in CAMDEN TOWN with friends called KNOW HOW RECORDS & label with STEVE LAVERS called www.audiobugrecords.co.uk ... both have gone on to gain a great reputation for quality music all over the world. Top circuit djs that shop at Know How include The PLUMP DJs, FREESTYLERS, PEACE DIVISION, DJ ICEY, JOE RANSOM, SANCHO PANZA DJS, ILS, DEEKLINE, SHUT UP & DANCE, RATPACK, STANTON WARRIORS, BARRY ASHWORTH, DREADZONE, PENDULUM.. Know How won BEST RETAILER at the 2005 & 2006 BREAKSPOLL awards.Martin made his first track in 1996 called RPM Fascinator with Jem from Soul Of Man which was played constantly by the likes of The Plump Djs s, Freq Nasty, Barry Ashworth , Krafty Kuts.. In 2003 Martin co wrote `Dopefreak` with Steve Lavers which was included on the Plump Djs Fabric Live Mix. A few months later Martin & Steve started Audio Bug Records which has received strong support from a wide variety of top circuit Djs including Sasha, Plump Djs, Phil Hartnoll, Krafty Kuts, Atomoic Hooligan, Hyper, Stanton Warriors, Pendulum, General Midi, Jay Cunning, Lee Burridge to name but a few… .
MYSL have remixed such artists as DEEP DISH, DK8, MEDCAB, SHUT UP & DANCE & TAISHAN, Freeflow 45 which have all gone on to be heavily rotated by a wide variety of DJs. They have remixes for LOT 49, FUNCTIONAL and SINISTER RECORDS forthcoming aswell as having just completed a track for WIPEOUT ON THE PSP / PLATSTATION 3. You can also expect an AUDIO BUG MIX CD mixed by Martin in the near future featuring lots of exclusive and forthcoming material as well as Audio Bug biggies and some of Martins s choice tracks he been spinning over the last year or so.
As a DJ Martin has played pretty much every venue/club in LONDON from the MINISTRY OF SOUND to MASS in Brixton, he played at the infamous DOGSTAR (five year residency) as well as spinning for SANCHO PANZA and POD Sound system s over the last 10 years at various warehouse parties. He can also be found spinning at the NOTTINGHILL CARNIVAL to between 3000/4000 people which he has done over the last 10 years. Martin has played in countries such as SPAIN, IRELAND, RUSSIA, U.S.A, PANAMA & more recently at Space in Ibiza. Over the years he has played alongside the likes of BUSHWACKA!, HYBRID, ATOMIC HOOLIGAN, RENNIE PILGREM, STANTON WARRIORS, THE ROGUE ELEMENT, SASHA, COLIN DALE…
Martins musical style is ass shakin floor rockin Breakbeat House Electro and Techno... . he has built a very good reputation for his music programming, scratching & FX which have rocked many a dancefloor. He has recently had mixes aired been interviewed on Kiss 100 FM, XFM , Ministry Of Sound radio, and for Rennie Pilgrem on his radio show. Martin hosts his own radio show on www.nuskoolbreaks.co.uk every two weeks, he also reviews music for One Week To Live as well as contributing to other mags as Know How Records
