Having moved to London from New Zealand in 1997, Digga immediately found herself at the centre of the city’s dance scene. Totally immersing herself in the capital’s underground Marie soon found herself living in a North London warehouse where the now legendary Outreal Studio parties were held. In few short months, she was up there on the decks next to the likes of Barry Ashworth and Derek Dahlarge and the parties had generated so much word of mouth hype that over 700 revellers were turning up to each event, hedonistically throwing themselves into her distinctive blend of tech house and jacking electro.
As the superclubs found themselves struggling into the new millennium, discerning club-goers, headed back underground to more innovative nights across the city’s fringes. The nights promoted by Marie at the Light EC1, and West London hotspot the Source were the perfect antidote to the tired, commercial sound emanating from the West End. Soon enough the East End had become an epicentre of London activity with everyone from artists, hipsters, and die-hard club-heads queuing round the block at venues such as 333 every night of the week where Digga was once again pioneering with the regular Heroine night, with names such as Terry Farley and Nic Fanculli joining her on the decks
Digga continues to promote and DJ to ever-increasing crowds, which has culminated in highly sought-after sets at the seminal TDK dance festival and the Notting Hill Carnival, playing up against legends such as, Mylo, Touche and Eddy Temple-Morris, and the Cuban Brothers.
On NYE she played at Black Rabbit alongside an allstar line up of Justin Robertson, Guy Williams, Nathan Detroit, Bones, and Ed from the Chemical Brothers. In the last year she has played in St Tropez, Berlin, Frankfurt, New Zealand, and Thailand, and is set to play in Dubai, Glastonbury, Ibiza and China this summer.
In July she has taken on the enormous task of organising a three day mini-festival in Surrey, and has managed to rope in guests like the Egg, Dub Pistols, Justin Robertson, Lisa Loud, Justin Drake, and many many more…
As a natural progression of her talents Marie has also launched her own production career, and her remixes for skewed Berlin electro outfit Warren Suicide have caught the attention of Fatboy Slim, Laurent Garnier, and Annie Mac to name a few.
