My music productions have always been a mixture of different influences. Similarly, my background and cultures are a mixture of Guyanese, Chinese and English hence the name CockTailMixer. I have been producing music for enjoyment for many years and worked with both emcees and singers within the London music scene. Music has always been a passion and I try to enjoy it and not get involved in the business side of things. As a female who makes beats, I try to avoid using it as a brand even though it is becoming more and more common since my days of the Atari ST!! My influences are from music I grew up with to modern day producers such as- Hi-Tek, Lewis Parker, Kanye, Pete Rock, RZA and 9th Wonder. I am currently working on my debut music album which has been continually put back since early 2007. I want to be 100% happy with it - so it won't be rushed and will be ready at some point in 2008, unlike most of my tracks, I am making sure it is mixed and mastered at the most professional level. More skilled as a songwriter, I have completed my "Playing with both hands EP" in 2007 which I will release very soon. It features artists such as- Imagery, Intrigue, Sewuese, Nutty P, Oracle and Joe Spesh and is a combination of pianos and beats. I used to play the piano- achieving the highest grade 8 but in recent years, I am not as skilled!! I have produced or recorded 2 music Promos: "Promofunk" (Imagery) and "The Itz Amazin Promo" (Intrigue) notably 2 of London's finest poetic lyricists. You will also notice a few music videos on my page soon which is something else that I like to do for fun. In 2006 I launched the biggest evening event for Producers and Beatmakers- The Beatshed (My top friend) so if you're a producer, come down and say hi, but there are rules- no divas, just serious music lovers!!!!! My set up is the MPC 2000XL (recommended in the past by Mantis beats!) and I find myself getting more obsessed with it everyday...I also got the obvious music programs and of course Reason for when I'm in my songwriting mood......I'll be keeping you updated with fresh beats often, and your feedback would be appreciated.................CTMx
