There are so many fantastic books both fiction and non in this world. I wish I had unlimited time in order to read them all.
The concept of "hero" is simply a matter of perception. One man's hero may be another man's enemy. I suppose a hero to me is someone that can find the truth hidden in the lies and then tell people about it because they know it deep in their hearts to be right. History is so filled with stories which have been altered, embellished, changed entirely and even erased completely. What we think we know is so often not the truth.
