With the name deriving from the quantum physics book "The Dancing Wu Li Masters" by Gary Zukav, Wu Li is Chinese for Patterns of Organic Energy. Wu Li is fusion music in that we are all influenced by a variety of styles: Rock, Jazz, Funk, Dub, Latin and Trip-Hop to name a few. In our live show we strive toward the peak experience of music as an extension of our beings. Is there order to the universe and human existence, or are the controlling forces random and chaotic? Ask yourself this question when listening to, or better yet when you are playing and creating music. Improvisation and experimentation provide a great opportunity to discover answers to the questions of quantum physics. I've always felt that playing live music is a metaphor for how all types of energy interact. This band philosophy has led to magical musical moments and miracle feelings of oneness, as well as the darker side of chaos and dissonance. Taking chances has gotten us closer to the realization that the answers may or may not be out there; it's the constant searching that is interesting for us and our listeners.
