Reviews:
"[...] The pace here is shoes-on-fire and what strikes one first is that one doesn't have all of these records. Secondly, NRG's "Let's Put It In Effect" sounds like "Let's Put It In Vat." Most Infamous MC Freshski Triplex has the profundo Grandaddy IU, a man of science and knowledge with a hightened sense of acronym duty. Azeez throws "Funky Drummer" under the a capella, keeping the true knowledge in the pocket. Roughly 12 imports later, K-Boss says, "When I'm coolin with a lady, I dress like a Roman." The 12" cover: K-Boss throwing some guy off a bridge. Then MC Class says "That's OK, I'm freaking you out/You have no idea what I'm talking about." Then there's Princess Ivori, who bears no relation to the P Bros yet happens to be MC Shan's sister. Produced by Paul 'Sucker's overpay for my records' C, "Crackpipe" ("changed it all") perverts Esther Williams's disco classic, before rappers grew kitchens and cooking shows out of their heads. [...]
Cut to "Life Is Like A Nike Commercial", where Philadelphia's Poison Ladd SL does his best Kool G Rap. He say's "Fuck rehab I'm not Alfalfa" and matches blueprints with army ants. Take vat and party." Dave Tompkins, The Wire (November 2006)
"DJ Azeez runs one of the most respected hip-hop stores in Vienna and his knowledge of vinyl is unsurpassable. His love is late 80s and early 90s hip-hop-the faster and grimy the better. An amazing mix that hits like a sawed-off and takes us back to a make believe time when hip-hop and house music were twin brothers. I pity the fool who doesn't own this mix. Azeez promises an early 90s backpacker mix next. I cannot wait." Sean-Michael Yoder, Synthesis Magazine
