..............................................I can't say I have any guitar heroes, however I love stroytellers like Nanci Griffiths, Eric Tyalor, Kate Wolf, John Prine and Townes Van Zandt. In fact it was hearing Nanci Griffiths for the first time during the 90s that inspired me to write my own songs. I love the songs of John Denver, nobody writes about the outdoors like him. Cat Stevens is one of my favourite songwriters of all time.

I write the type of songs I do because they come easier to me than any other type of songs. I won't change my style of writing, like some, to make them more commercially viable. When I start writing a song it rarely turns out the way I thought it would, it usually takes an unexpected turn somewhere and heads in another direction completely. It's a great feeling finishing a new song. As I write this (August 07)I'm about to start recording a new CD complete with drums and stuff.

In 2 or 3 weeks time (september) the midges will have bedded down for the winter and I'll unpack the tent and the thermals and head for the campsite, starry nights and Laphroaig and not another human being besides Christine, plenty canine company though, but no humans!
Sounds Like: Well I sit on stage with just an acoustic guitar, so I reckon I must remind people of someone. I would never claim to have re-invented the wheel with my music, but, like every other musician, part of it is unique.
