Who am I?
Alan McCormack is a songwriter and performer based in Coatbridge in Scotland. I was born in Coatbridge and still live there it's not as bad as the press it gets, honest!
History:
Started writing 2 years ago and got involved with Coatbridge and Airdrie Music Club, who gave me my first support slot - supporting Ewan McFarlane of the Grim Northern Social. I was brickin' it because Ewan is an amazing performer (check him out if you get the chance). I got good feed back and the night went well. Since then I have done some gigs with some really great players (Larry Guild, Meave O'Boyle, Jon Gomm, Mike Smith and Mark Clinton). It's been great for me to gain playing experience and a big thanks to Ian for giving me the shout and helping me with the Myspace site.
Before this I played various Open-Mic nights, which are always brill and the first time I played in public was an Open-Mic organised by Jim Sneddon. Cheers mate, hope your doin' well!
Music:
The four tracks on this demo are about various things, hope you like them. (If you have any feedback, I'm open to hearing it, send me a message or e-mail to [email protected])
Thanks:
I'll say hi to my mate Shug who recorded the demo in his back room. (thats rock 'n' roll isn't it?! well it is to me) So mega thanks to the Shuggster, hope we can catch up soon.
Recently:
Just when I was getting into playing and gigging I get stopped in my tracks with a voice problem, (disaster!) so that's been a bummer and very frustrating. (So don't ever take your voice for granted!) It's getting slightly better, here's hoping I'll be back soon. I miss performing so much.
Mean time I've managed to write a few more songs and that's helped keep my head up and as soon as I get the voice sorted out and I can sing properly, I'll be back out there getting involved. So for now, as Bon Jovi say I'll just Keep The Faith!
Alan
P.S Thanks Jill
