Social Ignition were formed in January 2006 by old school friends Ben Lines, James Sargeant and Barry Makriel. Soon after singer Gary Mairs and Mark Walton on guitar were added to the line up.The structure is based around the groove driven bass of Sargeant and the searing Verve-esque guitars of Lines and Walton. The pounding drums of Makriel and powerful vocal of Mairs complete the formula.Social Ignition play an amalgamation of space rock and classic indie comprising bass and drum driven grooves. They have developed a mesmeric and haunting sound on record which is transferred into pure rock adrenalin live. They are a band to be seen whose music will leave the listener awe struck at its beauty and power in equal parts.Social Ignition have recently completed a mini UK tour and have just finished recording an awesome new 3-track demo which you can now download from this page.Social Ignition are due to play gigs around London in the new year and will set the music industry alight in 2007.
