Music is art and art is expression of self.”Ground Broken Entertainment was first founded in 2003 by Surreal and Epidemik Scriptz. After countless nights of entertaining friends, party goers, and music lovers alike, the duo began getting recognition for their freestyle performances. “Me and Scriptz would just kick it at parties and freestyle. Everybody wanted to know who we were and where they could pick up a cd. When we went places people recognized us, we began getting fans before we even recorded our first song!” ~Surreal~ With Surreal producing and arranging all instrumentals, the Ground Broken project was now underway! After having laid the ground work two new members were added in 2007, Cloud 9 and Atlas. Carrying on the tradition of freestyle emceeing, Cloud 9’s unorthodox rapid fire style brings a diverse feel to the group; while Atlas’s smooth R&B style is a perfect addition to the groups well rounded sound. “We all have a strong back ground in Hip Hop, Jazz, Classic Rock, and R&B” says Cloud 9. “There is a lot of good music out there that never gets herd. Yet, there is also a lot of trash music that is being produced and sold through mainstream outlets. We need to start seeing real talent for what it’s worth and not buy into how much publicity the media gives them. Support the independent artists who rock the spot and maybe we can change this broken scene!” ~Cloud 9~ Currently the groups self produced self recorded demo “Ground Broken: Volume 1” is available, as a collector’s edition, through various underground outlets. We are currently recording our debut album and negotiating our first national tour.
