Global Vibe are a reggae, ska and dub band from Thessaloniki, Greece.
Global Vibe was formed in the spring of 2002 by: Vakis Goulios (Voc/Guit), Kogias Stergios (Drums), Panagou Dimitris (Bass), Dzingovic thanasis (Guit/Voc).
Shortly after, Thanos Kosmidis joined the band, playing keyboard and contributing back up vocals. By joining, Thanos Kosmidis, helped change the band’s mentality and priority, turning the band into a more serious affair, thus getting them lots of gigs. Since then, there have been several changes in terms of who plays what in the band, but who you’ll enjoy as Global Vibe today, are: Gregory Tantanozis (Lead Vocals), Vakis Goulios (Voc/Guit), Orestes Benekas (Keys/Voc), Dzingovic thanasis (Lead Guit), Panagou Dimitris (Bass), Kogias Stergios (Drums), Theofilos Tantanozis (Perc/Voc).
The band started serious, regular “gigâ€ing in January 2003. So far, they ’ve played all the hot spots and big stages of Thessaloniki, such as various clubs at Mylos, Café Americain, etc.
They ‘ve also played in various other cities in Greece, such as Athens, Veria, Giannena, Alexandroupoli, etc.
Global Vibe have also participated in various festivals, such as the 1st and 2nd Rastavibe Festival in Asprovalta, next to legendary musicians of the reggae scene, such as Max Romeo, Culture, Misty in Roots, Dennis Alcapone, Asian Dub Foundation, Mad Professor.
Furthermore, they’ve played at the 1st and 2nd Castle Rock Festival in Ioannina, the Ardas River Festival, and tons of other anti-war and anti-racism festivals, in smaller cities and venues.
Global Vibe are currently in the studio, recording their very first record.
