Boutique Chic: Collection gathers together the best moments from the three 12" singles in the fabulous themed series, 'Boutique Chic'. Launched by 'Chez Le Coiffeur', with its obvious capillary influence, in 2005, and expanded upon by the undoubtedly summery 'Bikini Party', this initial trilogy was finished off by the saucy 'Maison Close', (evidently too hot for the tastes of iTunes in the US of A where it was censored.)
Ten artists lent their considerable talents to the task of coming up with a composition specific to one of these themes, as if designing the perfect film soundtrack. Among them were Kid Loco, Chris Joss, Black Market Audio and The Pinker Tones and Georges Deligny (a.k.a. Stereofiction label boss, Thomas Deligny.) Paying tribute to the graphic design styles of the 1950s, Restez Vivants wrapped the discs in a retro modernity, reflecting an elegance à la française, far closer, naturally, to the universe of Jacques Tati than that of a Hollywooden superproduction.
And you'll be pleased to know that further delicacies are anticipated shortly... «Chic, non?»

Boutique Chic : Collection reprend les meilleurs moments des trois vinyles 12’’ de la ravageuse série thématique Boutique Chic. Inaugurée par un 1er volume à l'influence clairement capillaire intitulé Chez le coiffeur en 2005, elle est suivie du très estival Bikini party. Enfin, c’est avec, Maison Close, un 3ème volume sulfureux (d’ailleurs censuré sur iTunes USA) que s’achève cette première trilogie.
Dix artistes se sont prêtés au jeu de composer un titre spécialement sur l’un des thèmes à la manière d’une bande originale de films. Parmi eux, on retrouve Kid Loco, Chris Joss, Roudoudou, Vegomatic ou encore Georges Deligny (aka Thomas Deligny, également label manager de Stereofiction).
Rendant hommage au style graphique des années 50, les visuels sont réalisés par Restez Vivants. Ils illustrent à merveille l'univers du disque: une certaine idée de la modernité‚ influencée par le passé, un style reflétant l'élégance à la française, plus proche d'un univers à la Jacques Tati que de superproductions Hollywoodiennes.
Et la collection s’enrichira prochainement de volumes encore plus gourmands… « Chic, non ? »
