The Clowns

We're actually not even funny ...

About Me

************************************************************ *
The Clowns is a band consisting of two failed clowns and a disillusioned pantomime!

************************** Illustratrion bei Suki Bamboo (klick the picture, baby)
There was a clown named Frederick Obando who tried to make a living as a circus clown. But it just wasn't happening. He found himself cleaning up elephant poo and horse shit and being yelled at by the circus director for being late. One day he had to admit to himself that he just wasn’t funny. So he quit the circus and formed a band. He wanted to rock the stages with a screaming guitar and shout out songs of hornyness and tragedy, of love and hate and the diseases of society. He started writing songs and soon knew that he wanted to form a power trio ... made up of CLOWNS!
************************************************************ *
On the 24th of December 2005 a second circus clown by the name of Dino Castelli (left) joined the band. He is a man simply unable to tell a single funny joke, but he has an ability to play bass, keys and sing. Since the circus only kept him out of pity and because they couldn’t afford a better clown, he said to himself: if I can’t make people laugh, at least I want to make some noise. So when he met Rick Obando at a Christmas Clown Party, they joined forces, started rehearsing and felt this was the right path to go.
************************************************************ *
A disillusioned pantomime artist called Eugene Bakarow (right) completed the trio in December 2006. He’s the youngest son of a Ukranian pantomime family, but he’s really bad at living up to family traditions. The day he realized he wouldn't be able to fulfil his familiy’s expectations, Eugene started banging on an imaginary drumkit, playing an incredible but inaudible drum solo. Since that day he knew he wanted to be heard, no matter how! Next thing he came to a drummer audition Frederick and Dino had set up.
************************************************************ *
The trio may have failed as clowns in the past - but they will succeed as THE CLOWNS in the future!
