One day, I heard why I should be proud of being Korean. The largest church in the whole wide world is in South Korea. In 2002 FIFA World Cup, South Korea is the first and only Asian team that reached semifinal of the tournament. It looks like God blessed our soccer team, because many of the players are Christians. You could even see them praying together.
2006 FIFA World Cup Germany is already over and I am currently waiting for the next World Cup ( 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa ). Brazil won the fifth title when they became the champion of 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/ Japan while South Korea surprised the world by being the first Asian team to go to the semi-final round and reach final four.

Down below are pictures of Park Chu-Young. He is one of the Korea World Cup players. Most players in Korea soccer team are Christians. While playing soccer, Park Chu-Young prays in front of all the people in the stadium. Whenever his team scores, he always bows on his knees to thank God while many people are watching him. Park Chu-Young said at the FIFA interview that when he retires, he will be a missionary in Asia. "I'm playing football to express my thankfulness to God for giving me such a great talent and I have no intention to change my goal celebration," he said. "The first and main reason why I play football is to evangelise people. It would make me happy if just one person became interested in Christianity because of me." He also said, "As a disciple of Jesus, I would like to preach and praise the Lord my whole life. When the time comes for my retirement, I would like to begin missionary work while teaching and playing football." When he signs an autograph, he always writes "Jesus is Christ".
Down below are pictures of another South Korean Park. Park Ji-Sung currently plays for Manchester United as well. As a Manchester United player, he scored two goals on one game. He was one of the 2002 World Cup heroes. South Korea beat Portugal 1-0 when Park Ji-Sung scored. He also scored at the penalty shootout against Spain to reach semifinal. At the 2006 World Cup, he equalized with France 1-1. Park is one of the key players for South Korea. He has been a great hero for the nation. Not only is he popular in Korea, but he is also popular in England for Manchester United.
