BIOGRAPHY
Sakis Gouzonis is a Greek Electronic Music Composer / Arranger / Producer. He was born on March 16, 1978 to Nick and Frida Gouzonis in Thessaloniki, the second biggest city in Greece. Two brothers named George and Peter would follow.
In 1988, Sakis and his family moved to Elassona, a town which is located at the foot of the worldwide known Mountain Olympus.
At the age of twelve his parents bought him his first keyboard. He was thrilled with all those buttons and keys on his first keyboard. At that time he wrote his first music composition "Message From Heaven".
In 1994 his parents bought him his first semi-professional keyboard.
At the age of seventeen he decided to give his life to Jesus Christ.
In 1996 he released his first compilation of twelve well known old and contemporary christian hymns that he had arranged on his semi-professional keyboard. The compilation was a big success. Sakis received a lot of letters and a lot of very beautiful comments from the U.S.A., Canada, Australia and Europe encouraging him to continue. It was amazing the fact that some people who had purchased the first compilation wanted to prepay for the next compilation that Sakis would release in the future.
After finishing Senior High School, Sakis served in the Greek Army for one and a half years. That period was very difficult for him psychologically. However, during his service he was given the opportunity to perform his music for the General of the First Army in Larisa, one of the largest cities in Greece. It was a great honor for Sakis.
In 1998 - while still serving in the Greek Army - Sakis released his second compilation of ten well known old and contemporary christian hymns.
In 2000, Sakis was asked to play keyboards in a band that was backing up Greek artist Costas Fragoraptis in Thessaloniki. They released two albums. He also continued to write his own music compositions.
In 2001, he began to work as an English teacher.
In 2002, he bought his first professional music workstation and all the necessary music equipment in order to build his own home studio. It was a really hard task.
In the summer of 2004, he moved to Athens to pursue a career in music. In Athens he continued to work as an English teacher and write his own music.
In 2007, he participated in the 5th International Music Composition Contest and won the 3rd Prize for his Music Composition "Anthem Of Love" and the 1st Commendation Award for his Music Composition "Give Me A Chance" in the Category "Digital Dance Music".
Sakis is currently working on his first personal Album "First Contact" which will be soon released as an independent music production. The Album includes 10 new music compositions ( "Anthem Of Love" and "Give Me A Chance" are included ) that all have been composed, arranged and produced by Sakis himself. The music compositions of the album range from ballads to dance.
Up to now Sakis has given more than 700 live performances.
