About Me

Contact Box Generated from Pimp Myspace Pages - Free MySpace Layouts
This page is an incarnation of one of many you will see if you visit very often. Currently I'm really happy with this nature theme. It's helped to ground me and to meditate on the whys and wherefors of nature. I know I need to get my butt out there more often instead of absorbing it vicariously. Being in nature is where I can truly find some peace of mind.
sometimes people say "you think too much" and at times this is true. I also can "feel" too much and am at constant war with this THINK VS FEEL thing. Sometimes the end result is a scary numbness that I have to make an effort to get thru.
NATURE will renew and balance me everytime.
"For here we have no fixed resting-place, but our search is for the one which is to come." Hebrews 13:14
Those who dwell...among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life. . . Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction. Rachel Carson
Like music and art, love of nature is a common language that can transcend political or social boundaries. --- Jimmy Carter 39th President of the United States Born, 1924
To be rooted is perhaps the most important and least recognized need of the human soul.- Simone Weil, "The Need for Roots"
The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.- Anne Frank
Nature can be trusted to work her own miracle in the heart of any man whose daily task keeps him alone among her sights, sounds, and silences. - Gene Stratton Porter
Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. -John Muir
I did however used to think, you know, in the woods walking, and as a kid playing the the woods, that there was a kind of immanence there - that woods, and places of that order, had a sense, a kind of presence, that you could feel; that there was something peculiarly, physically present, a feeling of place almost conscious ... like God. It evoked that.- Robert Creely
Sometimes I go about pitying myself, and all the time I am being carried on great winds across the sky.... (author unknown)
Earth and heaven are in us- Mahatma Gandhi

My Interests

"There is true courage in the acts of every day living." -- Rick Beneteau

I am a major homebody. Sure I like to get out now and then but to me there's no place like HOME SWEET HOME.

My INTEREST include:
spirituality, psychology, photography, nature, literature, art, music, continued learning

Some things I like to do for fun:
most anything nature related including: hiking, camping, fishing, boating, including float trips down the river.

specifically I like : roasting marshmallows over an open campfire
the smell of wood burning
picking wildflowers

seeing animals in their natural habitats

sitting outside and looking at the stars

watching the sun sparkle on the water

feeling the sun on my shoulders

hearing the water lap on the shore or next to a boat
feeling unconfined and that i can breathe
now THAT is total relaxation

being romanced ...with a bottle of wine, slow dancing and candles on a dinner table
bowling

and playing pool
I feel totally at home in a bowling alley :)

browsing yardsales, flea markets and antique stores

cuddling up and watching a movie
dancing to and listening to a live band

reading
writing,

surfing on the computer
Playing THE SIMS
Puzzles, Word games, and card games

One general thing about me is that I have a lifelong love of LEARNING. i wish i could afford more college classes to take just for FUN! I enjoy studying stuff on my own tho sometimes. yeah, taking notes and everything.

Music:

MUSIC: BECAUSE THAT IS WHEN THE MIND STOPS TALKING TO ITSELF AND WE ONLY LISTEN:
I love many types of music. Probably listen to alternative or acoustic type music most but I get in moods for country too including old country. I can appreciate folk, Bluegrass, the blues, or a good spiritual. Sometimes I just wanna ROCK tho. Be it classic, southern or the hard stuff. Music helps define moods. Its a staple and the background to my life.

Movies:

I love to settle down with a good movie now and then.

Television:

The tvs tuned to music stations more often then not in my house but somedays I will get a craving for it and watch it for hours at a time. Still mostly I'd rather be on the computer.

Books:

I have always been an avid reader. These days its more just a chapter or so before bed to help me get to sleep tho. I love to get lost in a good fiction book.
I have read quite a bit actually tho on psychology, philosophy, religion, spirituality and other mysterys.

Heroes:

hmmm. maybe my hereo will be YOU. :)
