"Dj Óli Ofur is one of the Icelandic underground dance music scene favorites, gained his reputation by solid good gigs and by mixtapes that has spread out in Reykjavik city (and further) over the past years.

He started out early 2001, throwing parties called Ofur, with a couple of friends in Akranes, a fish-industried village close to Reykjavík. Rumors started to spread out in the capital, and after a while he started to play out, without knowing a soul within the “scene”. Today he’s respected within it, and plays from drum n’ bass to minimal, and from deephouse to bangin techno venues and radio programs, one of few that play’s for all major dancemusicpartythrowers.

Early 2007 he and his friends founded Barcode, a collective of young men, eager to play underground dance music for the pupil, and people seems to like that, Barcode is one of the coolest underground sh** going on, taken place once a month in the capital, and every once in a while outside of Reykjavík.

His dj sets are known for being diverse and original, and he always tries to play music that contains soul, hope, rhythm and inspiration, in what ever form it may appear. One thing is for sure, that with this guy behind the decks, you are definitely in for a really good party."
