About Me

I like to bang.......drums that is. im a freelance percussionist born and raised in Queens, NY. i'll bang on anything, be it a drum, a cymbal, a frying pan, and most recently clay pots. I love jazz, arabic & indian music, hip-hop, drum&bass, classical music of the west and middle east. I recently began traveling abroad to learn the hand drumming styles of many cultures(India and the Middle East). Since college i have been performing classical, contemporary classical, arabic, indian, rock, jazz and experimental music on just about every percussion instrument under the sun. My music has brought me to venues such as symphony space, lincoln center, Le Frak concert hall, the knitting factory, east river park, PASIC 2004, carnegie hall, and colden center. I have appeared with the Talujon percussion quartet, the Bang on a Can annual festival, and at the NYC Day of Percussion. I am currently musical director for the interactive sonic party experience that is Body Temple. My band - Consider the Source - recently opened up for Wyclef Jean of the fugee's. We continue to flood nyc's clubs with our own blend of world fusion funk rock. I am also resident percussionist for the Urban Gypsy Circus - the hottest installation art dance party in New York City. i love playing music because of its beauty and its universal understanding and effects. when i play with my friends, we're communicating on deep subconscious levels, and through music i can reach these deep levels with complete strangers. I dig it...
