About Me

Many people list their hobbies/work/loves in this space, but that's only surface stuff. In other people, I'm interested in what their essence is. If I knew how to put my own essence into words, I would do so. "If you can just get your mind together...then come across to me" -Jimi Hendrix fantasy layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com

I'd like to meet:

When I meet somebody in physical reality (non-cyber-space), I try to feel their essence. It is usually easy to intuit this in their presence. In cyper-space/my-space, the rules change. You have to look at their website to figure out who the person is, or what they want you to think of who they are. It's like judging a book by its cover. Some show pictures of their own music or art, which does give a clue to their inner world. Others are all flash, wanting to be part of the meat market. Being asked to show ourselves in 2 dimentional reality can be difficult when we are multidimentional beings...These thoughts have caused me to really look at my own myspace here. We start with a clean slate and then try to recreate ourselves on something 2 dimentional. We add a layout and some music, a video or two. We have pictures and poetry. We may be goal orientated and want to spread the word about something to as many people as possible, so we plaster our websites with links to good causes. My space could be an alter on which to worship various spiritual forms. All these represent a choice of how to fill something empty with ourselves. I have deep appreciation for those choosing to add beauty and love to fill this emptyness.....We search for other spaces that relate to us in the above mentioned ways, all the while guessing as to the essence of that person. Wanting to reach out, we try to add friends. Some do this for the sake of having a lot of friends, others to really connect. I'd like to connect with people who want to really connect. I don't want to be a number or a picture on somebody elses 2 dimentional reality. I'd like to be part of the beauty and love in a multi-dimentional way.... {P.S.~***I only add musicians if they write to me first and tell me why they would like to be friends***}_________________________________________________ ___________________ ____________ ______________________

Music:

I am a musician and music teacher, so I appreciate most types of music. Sorry, not much interest in country though. Here's a taste of some of my mainstream favorites....Radiohead* (absolute favorite...don't know what I'd do without my Kid A CD), U2*, Jimi Hendrix*, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sting, Dead Can Dance*, Loreena McKennit, Buddha-Bar, Wax Poetic, Lenny Kravitz, Bjork*, Miles Davis, Sinatra/Martin, Irshad Khan, Loop Guru, Tori Amos*, Sigur Ros, Indigo Girls, Robert Gass' Chanting music, Vas, Beastie Boys*, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gipsy Kings*, Juan Luis Guerra*, Alice In Chains*, Soundgarden*, Sarah McLachlan, Wyclef Jean, Peter Gabriel, Shakti*, Dixie Chicks, Bob Marley, Ulali, and Buena Vista Social Club. For non-mainstream favorites, all those on my top friend's list (Anahata Sound Current, Paul Avgerinos, Mankei Neko, Alex West, etc). Classical....oh this list is too long for my fingers to type, but I do love Shostakovich*, Bach*, Beethoven, Bartok*, Rachmaninoff*, Marais, Sainte-Colombe, Saint-Saens*, Debussy, Barber, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, and Vivaldi. Mozart's Requiem (esp. Lacrimosa) brings me to tears. For musicians...I love Yo Yo Ma, Pearlman, du Pre, etc. Love Riyuichi Sakamoto's Little Buddha Soundtrack...plus the Tous les Matins du Monde soundtrack. I have a slight addiction to Indian and other types of world music. An even bigger addiction to playing unusual instruments from foreign countries...my latest obsession is the erhu...
