About Me

Hello everyone- This is my second profile because the first one - "Violeta" (without the 2) got stolen. So if you see Violeta and Violeta2 around you should know that they are both me... :-)
To those all you who have been my friends for the past few months and visit me often, I just wanted to tell you how much you mean to me and thank you for all your help and support. You have all enriched my life and have touched my soul in different ways.
____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________
My daily ongoing struggle is to find my inner strength and balance. I know that is my only path to happiness.
____________________________________________________________ _________________________________ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------
I am still trying to figure out myself, but this I KNOW:
1) that war is not an appropriate treatment for terrorism and has many toxic side effects.
2) that domestic/partner violence comes in many shapes (girls please watch out for the not so obvious ones)
3) that our lifestyle choices have a major impact in our short- and long-term well-being (this includes, of course, what you choose to eat every day and your exposure to chemicals) SEE (http://www.everydaychoices.org/)
.. width="425" height="350" ..
4) that we must take care of our environment and our planet
.. width="425" height="350" ..
5) that knowledge is indeed power (you can always win if you are the best at what you do)
6) that those little random acts of kindness can make a big difference in other people's life (same for unsolicited spontaneous smiles). It takes so little sometimes to help another human being...
7) that heartache takes forever to heal...
Some healing remedies for temporary and acute happiness and internal peace:
1) a walk in the seashore listening to the waves, smelling the ocean
2) a beautiful peaceful forest
3) hiking in the mountains and watching shooting stars
4) babies
5) a bubble bath
6) community gardens...
7) oh yes, the ultimate remedy... lying down underneath a huge magnolia tree and looking up... the ground covered with petals: it's amazing...
8) of course, Fall colors!
(any other suggestions?)
AND REMEMBER...
DON'T WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO BRING YOU FLOWERS
PLANT YOUR OWN GARDEN!

My Interests

Music, poetry, gardening... nature and the environment. Through my wonderful friends in myspace, particularly STLMEL, Mabel Klix, and Marina, I have learned the therapeutic value of photography. Inspired by them I recently started to take pictures. I have still much to learn, but at least I am enjoying myself doing it, capturing my world, and expressing myself that way.

Thanks for visiting me! ---------------------------------------------------------

“To be like a river that flows
silent through the night,
not fearing the darkness
and reflecting any stars high in the sky.

And if the sky is filled with clouds,
the clouds are water like the river,
so without remorse reflect them too
in the calm deep.”

-Manuel Bandeira"

I'd like to meet:

Books:

"To love. To be loved.
To never forget your own insignificance.
To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you.
To seek joy in the saddest places.
To pursue beauty to its lair.
To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple.
To respect strength, never power.
Above all, to watch. To try and understand.
To never look away.
And never, never, to forget."

- Arundhati Roy

"So it is that every person you meet, each soul who crosses your path and affects you - wonderfully and terribly, briefly or for a lifetime - is here for that reason, and every relationship you engage in is but a small scene in a vast, ever-unfolding human panoply that is being endlessly enacted for the purpose of your soul's development. When you recognize this, you will suddenly, breathtakingly see that each person has been brought to you with a high and elegant purpose, that each soul has come to touch your soul and teach it, that each relationship exists to hasten your own soul's beautiful awakening. No longer is anyone a stranger; no longer can any of your relationships be seen as failures or mistakes." -Daphne Rose Kingma
