About Me

LESLIE GLASS 1963 - 2000
This is a tribute memorial site honoring and keeping the memory alive of Leslie Glass , who died of cancer August 4, 2000. Leslie led a remarkable life in only the short time span of 36 years. This site pays tribute to a beautiful lady who loved animals. PENTHOUSE PET 1992, PENTHOUSE PET OF THE YEAR RUNNER UP 1994, INTERNATIONAL PET OF THE YEAR, MODEL, ACTRESS, ANIMAL LOVER, founder of the Animal Rescue organization Pet-4-Pets.
Leslie Laverne Fisher was born on October 4, 1963.
From her early turbulent childhood she loved animals which carried on throughout the rest of her life.
At the age of 14 Leslie became Baltimore's first and only recognized female skateboarder. She was the only girl on Baltimore's Highland Town Riders Skateboarding team. Ocean City Maryland's skateboarding team saw her and recruited her to join their Sundancer Skateboard team. At the age of 15 Leslie Fisher became the East Coast Womens Freestyle Skateboarding Champion and the Florida Girls Skateboard Competition Champion. By the time she was 16 she had placed first in five tournaments and second in two other tournaments. She continued skateboarding up until she was 17.
After graduating from Mercy High School, Leslie's beauty flourished and she decided to become a model. Leslie became a tv / print/ and runway model. She modeled in major exposure for LAX atheletic gear, Merry Go Round Boutiques, and as a promotional spokesmodel.
Leslie took the last name of Glass as her professional name from a boyfriend who she later married and divorced. Leslie was married 4 times in her life.
Her modeling led her on different paths. She became the most famous ring card girl of all time. Noticed by Donald Trump he signed her to a contract to work exclusively for Trump casinos for their boxing matches.
Leslie's beauty and her professional detail in costuming herself in elaborate outfits set her apart from all others. She was named by Ring magazine as the Round Card Girl of The Year 1988. She was the ring card girl for all of Mike Tyson's Heavyweight championship fights...leading up to his title defense against Buster Douglas.
Leslie appeared in a rock video for the band KIX and in EXTREME's "Mutha Don't Want To Go To School", she also appeared in Tone Loc's "Funky Cold Medina". She also was an extra in the movies "Tin Men", "Avalon", "Rocky V".
Leslie made a call and went to Penthouse, where Bob Guccione and Penthouse welcomed her.
Leslie Glass became the February 1992 Penthouse Pet of the month.
She was named the 1994 Penthouse Pet of the Year Runner -Up.
She was named the 1994 International Pet of The Year where she became Penthouse's ambassador to Russia for their inauguratorial First Russian Penthouse Issue premiere.
By 1997 she had appeared in Penthouse a record setting 30 + times along with gracing the cover several times, most notably with Howard Stern and Aerosmith. Leslie's beautiful face and body graced Penthouse magazine covers in Germany and in France. By January of 2000 Leslie had made 86 appearances in Penthouse and they continue to use photos from photo shoots she did. In 2005 Penthouse released a never before seen photo shoot Leslie did. She also participated in several of Penthouse's video releases where she not only was featured but also graced the covers as well.
Throughout her life she did her best to help rescue and place unwanted abused animals. Bestowed with beauty, smarts, and fame she used those assets to help start her own animal rescue organization. Aided by a group of volunteers Leslie embarked on making a difference in the lives of unwanted homeless animals. She saved animals from the pound, off the streets, wherever an animal was in need, Leslie was there. When she wasn't busy doing hands on rescueing she was busy making phone calls trying to do all she could for animals.
With Penthouse's permission and blessing by Bob Guccione to use the name, Leslie started Pets-4-pets a non profit animal rescue organization based in Baltimore, Maryland. Penthouse allowed use of its name to help promote what they felt was a worthy cause.
Leslie appeared on tv's "Hard Copy" interviewed for her Pets-4-pets efforts.
Leslie continued to work for Penthouse during this time. She did a photo shoot bringing awareness to her efforts in animal rescue. Calling upon her Penthouse friends she was able to use her fellow Penthouse pets along with the magazine to help raise money for this cause. Calendars and posters were created to raise money for their animal rescue efforts.
She starred as one of the 3 female leads in the movie classic " Vampire Vixens From Venus".
Working 18 hour days Leslie was involved in all aspects of rescueing. Her goal was to have a cancer treatment center for animals, which at the time would have been the second only animal cancer treatment facility. Partnered with her husband she owned a veterinary clinic, along with the building it was in. She was transforming the building into a groomers and a coffee house for pet lovers and animal care facility all in one. By this time in her life it was estimated that her animal rescue organization had saved the lives of over 3000 animals.
Her marriage was not to last. A nasty divorce sent her animal rescue organization in an upheaval and when the smoke cleared Leslie had no other options and had to dismantle her animal rescue group, lose the building, and unknowingly put an end to her dream.
Leslie continued her animal rescue efforts on her own. She moved to Florida and became a top featured exotic dancer that danced locally and across the nation. During her trips to other cities Leslie would stop by an animal shelter and rescue a dog or cat and bring them back home where she would try and place them in a new home. She would do this along with donating her earnings to various animal rescue groups.
Leslie travelled to Canada and met her last husband, Ghyslain.
To gain more notiriety and money Leslie signed a 3 picture deal with VIVID Video-the adult film world's leading studio for adult entertainment movies. Leslie had already done 2 movies with Vivid prior to this but for those movies she did not want to be the top name feature of the movie. This time was different. She became part of Vivid's royal family of 1997-sharing the spotlight with adult video goddess'- Janine Lindemulder , Lexus Lochlear, Raquell darrian, Kobe Tai, Tia Bella, and Heather Hunter. Appearing in an adult rated movie allowed her more notoriety to charge more for her special appearances when she would do her strip club tour. This was how she supported herself and her animal rescue efforts.
In 1998 she was diagnosed with metastic colon cancer that had spread to her liver. Because of medical personnel misdiagnosing her symptoms, it was not caught early. When it was finally found she was only given a 2 week time frame to live. The cancer had already spread to her liver where they found it was riddled with over 70 tumors. Despite that shocking news Leslie still danced and rescued animals. Her indominatable fighting spirit kept her going. She began experimental medical treatments and when radiation therapy took her trademark long hair she still continued to dance. She did not want to let the cancer win. She believed one of the reasons cancer wins was when the person allowed it to win and didn't put up a fight. When the news of her cancer was known co-workers, friends, and fans did what they could to help. Penthouse magazine/Bob Guccione paid for all round trip air travel for her when she needed to fly to get her medical treatments. Vivid Video paid her rent for an entire year. Her friends in the adult movie industry held fundraisers to help try and pay for her medical costs. Her strong desire to live aided her in fighting her battle with cancer. Her will to live and love of her husband and animals allowed her two week lease on life to become 2 years.
Leslie told a friend, Xcitement magazine writer, Cindi Loftus, that she had a dream about angels and when she had that dream she felt she would be okay when the time was to come to say goodbye to this world.
The angels came for her on August 4th 2000.

Heroes:

It was estimated that her pets-4-pets organization had saved the lives of over 3000 animals.
Animal shelters all across America are dealing with over crowding pet populations. Their only solution is to put to death these unwanted abandoned pets and litters. 15, 000 animals are put to death every day - not 15, not 115, not 1015, - 15,000 are put to death every day all across America.
You can do something to help.
Spay and neuter your pets. - its that simple. Litters of puppies and kittens cause the chances of unwanted abandoned pets at the shelter to grow less for adoption . Animals that do not get adopted crowd the shelter kennels leaving the shelters with only one option - euthanasia- basically putting the animal to death.
Save an animal's life - Adopt an animal from your local shelter- But before you do, thoroughly think about whether or not you can take responsiblity for the care, well being , health and happiness of the animal you are to adopt. All animals need food, shelter, water but they also need attention, to be played with, to be socialized with other people, medical care and above all to be loved. Do you have the time in your daily life to to do all that? Do you have the financial means to care medically for an animal? An animal is a small child with the comprehension of a small child and just like all children an animal has the same needs as a child. Treat any animal with the same care, love, and respect that you would give your own child....Treat any animal the way that you would want to be treated.
Donate your time or your money to local animal rescue organizations- familiarize yourself with the efforts made in your community to help animals from being senselessly killed. If you cannot donate some of your time to these organzations then make a monetary donation. Whether it be a small or big donation any donation helps these organizations who are the only people that stand in the way of certain death for these unwanted pets.
Every life is precious. Every animal is a living, breathing, feeling creature. They feel pain, sadness, they get sick, they hurt, they know loneliness. They feel the freezing cold weather, the scorching summer heat, yet they cannot just walk into a building to escape the heat, the rain, the snow and some animals are chained or left outside all year round .They can't read, write or tell us how they feel, if they are hurt or are in pain , yet they truly know pain , sadness , hurt , loneliness. Animals were not put on this earth to be our amusement, our entertainment, or as status symbols. They are simply here to give us unconditional love and friendship. We are here to be their friends and guardians- not their owners. They are not here to be chained or caged up, uncared for, neglected, forgotten in our backyards or on our streets lonely ,hungry, cold, sick- only to meet their fate by being hit by a vehicle, left to die, painfuly in the street. Someone's forgotten pet- their carcass runned over countless times, laughed at as "roadkill". No animal deserves to die that way.
We have the power to change their fates - it is our responsibilty to do what we can.....because they can't help themselves.
-You can make a difference-
Save an animal's life yourself or help someone who is.
Click on the picture below of Spencer, the link will take you to the Best Friends.org website and read how you , one individual can make a difference and help animals by either hands on rescuing, writing letters, raising money, raising donated items, raising awareness, educating, doing something to help unwanted abandoned pets.
