Manuel Calapez is a DJ and Producer. He has played at Lux, Frágil, Lounge, LEFT (all in Lisboa) in several ocasions. He as also played at Maus Hábitos, Plano B, Passos Manuel and Triplex (at Porto), ADN (Setúbal), NB (Viseu), Amo-te Meco, Amo-te Chiado, Pop.up bar, Texas Bar (Lisboa) and Lusco-Fusco Bar (Viseu). He played as well at Festival das Músicas do Mundo (Sines), Festival-X, Camp'05 Festival and Festival Danças com Livros (in Montemor-o-Novo), Experimenta Design, Centro Cultural de Belém and Lisbon's Museum of Ancient Art (M.N.A.A. - Museum's day). He is also one half of Internal Sync, having played all arround Portugal, and with live sets in Berlin and Dj sets in Athens.
As a producer, Manuel Calapez as done his Music Production course in London at Pointblank's Music Academy, where he was lectured by Danny J. Lewis (ex-Spiritual South, remixer of artists like Bebel Gilberto and Martin Solveig). Aplying what he has learned in London, he now lectures music production at Restart, Etic (in Lisbon) and Maus Hábitos (in Oporto).
With Internal Sync, he has released on labels such as Datapunk, Fortek, Klang Gymnastik, Plasteline, Broque and Kritik Records.
Besides this he coordinates Noite CD-R ( http://www.noitecdr.net ), a special night where non-edited producers show their music in a club type sound system. These are work sessions, the general rehearsal of tracks: checking sound levels, bass strength, voice clarity and also, observing the public reaction.
