About Me
In the Beginning…
A staple in the Chicago music scene since the early 80's, DJ Lil’ John has influenced and aided the careers of numerous Chicagoland music moguls, including DJ Pharris, Sam Sylk, Julius "The Mad Thinker", Chip E., and even the late Pink House.
John began his radio career in ‘83, as one of the original mixshow DJs on WKKC's "Friday Night Audio", currently Chicago's longest running radio mixshow. It was there that he and his turntable brothers Walter "Get-Down" Brown, Bobby-Q-Bobby, Brian "Furious" Frasier, Hugo H., and half a dozen others played the very best that House music had to offer. The show was so popular that it actually inspired Isadore Pink to join the station as the mixshow host! Now you know where and why he dubbed himself "Pink House".
John has since enjoyed various radio guest spots at both the college and commercial level, appearing on mixshows at WHPK, WCRX, WJPC, WLUW, B-96, and his current residence WGCI.
