Initially DJing was just for fun.
By 1988, it became a serious hobby & V-Dub
decided this is what he wanted to do for a living.
V-Dubs passion was for House music,
which was the mainstream genre of music
for the Chi-town culture. All Chicago DJs were
a part of the House Music scene. In 1990,
as Hip Hop became more popular, V-Dub started
to increasingly play it as he worked the college
scene heavily & eventually graduated
to working the clubs. While working the club
circuit, V-Dub was approached by programming
executives atChicagos ..1 rated radio station to
produce his very own mixshow.
In 2001, The Mixtape Hour was born.
The Mixtape Hour is dedicated to breaking
new artists by way of freestyles, new singles
& keeping a live mixtape vibe on air.
You can hear it on Friday & Sat on 107.5 WGCI
