With 14 years of rocking clubs and making mixtapes, this half Puerto Rican and half Mexican kid has a proven track record as a party and radio favorite. The past 2 years have played a crucial role in the career of scratch. In 2003 kid scratch became a weekend mix show dj for Chicagos biggest urban radio station. the station held a dj contest to become the new mixer and kid scratch won the contest. Within a year of being on radio, scratch got a proposal from WPWX POWER 92 to become the 12:00 noon and weekend mixer.
WPWX is now scratchs new home. You can hear scratch on the radio 10 times a week. Getting a opportunity after only being on radio not even a year was a great accomplishment. Djs are with stations for years and they dont get an opportunity this great . Scratch has something that the whole world needs to hear and see.
Kidscratchs claim to fame was his skills and his mixtapes. Scratch has made well over 400 mixtapes during his career. For a young kid mixing in his parents basement in front of a mirror, to becoming one of Chicagos top radio mix show djs was only a dream come true. Chicago radio is very hard to get into, especially for mixers. A lot of djs leave Chicago in order to have a chance on making it on radio somewhere else. Scratch has broke down barriers and made it happen without having to leave the place that he loves
and where he grew up in. Kidscratch is taking Chicago radio by storm.
Kidscratch was nominated at JUSTOS (RIP) 8TH ANNUAL MIXTAPE AWARDS for BEST SKILLS ON A MIXTAPE . Scratch was also nominated for Midwest DJ of the Year and Rookie Dj of the Year at the Mixshow Power Summit 2005. Scratch is part of the new mix tape movie that is coming out soon. (www.mixtapeinc.com). He has rocked crowds of 20,000 people. He has djed at the Russell Simmons Hip Hop Summit in Chicago, Dj for Doug e. fresh in Chicago, shared stages with Dmx, Kanye West, Do or
Die, 8ball & Mjg, Twista , Common, and many more.
Big things are in store for the kid in the new year. Kidscratch has become part of history once again. He has landed a role in a video game, and its not just any video game. The game is called SCARFACE. He plays the role of a business man in the video game, so be on the lookout for it coming fall of 2006. . Scratch can now be heard on Sirius satellite radio channel 40 Hip Hop Nation on Sundays with Violator Radio. Kidscratch is also doing Superadio. Scratch was featured on BETs RapCity in the basement on February 1, 2006. So Scratch is taking the game by storm on a worldwide
level. Television and radio are making Kidscratch a household name.
Kidscratch is also playing a major role in Chicago for bring reggaeton to the forefront. He plays reggae ton on urban radio every week. He as many reggaeton mixtapes as well as breaking the songs on Chicago radio. He just doesnt play records, he turns it into a movement. Scratch also is involved in speaking to underprivileged kids in his community. He believes in giving back to the community that has helped him to become who he is.
Kidscratch is the urban poster boy. He has a gold Kidscratch chain that the people love to see and he rides around town in a wrap van. The kids love his presence. He has been in music videos and in hip hop magazines. Kidscratch has the image that the urban youth is looking for and this is only the beginning, so if you dont know..you better ask somebody!!!
