Bio

It had been four years since KOCH recording artist Chris Cummings put a full studio album out to the market. That changed October 2006 as his fourth album hit the shelf.

Born in New Brunswick, Cummings was signed by Warner Nashville in 1993 and spent the better part of the next eleven years in music city. His first album contained four top 10 singles and was certified Gold in 1998. Six more top ten singles followed off of his next two albums as well as his greatest hits package in 2004. Cummings laughs about his absence, "you would think I was making the "Star Wars" trilogy with as long as this one took to come together." "I have never been in to releasing a new project every 10 months, that is how people get sick of you."

Cummings wrote six songs on the new album and co-wrote one more with long time collaborator Rod Lewis (No One Hurts Me, Lucy Got Lucky). Cummings has long been a critically acclaimed songwriter with cuts by Ricochet, Daryle Singletary, David Frizell and the Grammy nominated song "Twentieth Century" for Alabama.

The first single, "Dixie Beauxderaunt", is the first radio release by Cummings that was not self penned. "I bought Dan Baird's "Love Songs For The Hearing Impaired" in High School and wore out 3 copies in two years. I've always thought this song just had to be on the radio. Dan who co-wrote the first single with Terry Anderson is the writer of the 80's mega hit "Keep Your Hands to Yourself." Dixie" was a top 20 record on the charts and a 3 video at CMT. It was followed by "For The Music" which reached the top 15.

The current single is "Hey What You Know". "I feel like the record has some good balance to it." "I think it combines the off center approach of the last couple of records with some of the relatable songs from the first album." "It's my Citizen Kane" Cummings laughs. "Oh, who am I kidding, I'm just hoping it's not "Gigli"". Cummings was 31 when KOCH released "Who Says You Can't?" to stores nationwide. "I look at this as the second stage of my career, but I am beginning at an age when many are just beginning their first." Cummings smiles, "things could be a lot worse for an eleven year veteran."
