Atemno

Atemno are a power-progressive metal band from Città di Castello (PG), born in 2002 from the union of two other projects. The original line-up features Lodovico Rossi (vocals), Giovanni Nardi and Giacomo cancellieri (guitars), Emanuele Frusi (bass) and Alessandro Paci (drums). Only two months after their formation, they record a demo-cd with only one track, “Do as you like”; not long after that, during the same year, they are given the opportunity to open for Domine and Exawatt. Later, they decide to release a more ‘professional’ work, “Demo 2002”, recorded at Direct Sound Studios in Città di Castello. Soon after, their line-up changes: Niccolò Franchi (drums) and Francesco Ferrini (keyboards) enter the band.They begin to collect many gigs in Italy, playing in Padova and Mestre with Seven Gates, another italian power metal band, and then on other important locals and clubs, like ‘Keller Platz’ in Prato (where they manage to take part in “Keller Contest”, a big national competition organized by Energyzone), ‘Transilvania’ in Bologna and ‘Easy Rider’ in Arezzo. On June 2004, they record their newest demo-cd, “On the wings of memory”, featuring seven tracks, and only two months later Giacomo Cancellieri and Emanuele Frusi leave the band for personal reasons. Their places are taken by Tommaso Riccardi (guitar) and Marco Bonatti (bass) to complete line-up. Between 2004 and 2005 Atemno perform several times in Toscana, Emilia Romagna and Umbria to promote their demo. On April 2006 Atemno get signed by POWERZONE RECORDS, a young italian metal label, which later encounters serious economic troubles and can't continue his work with the band.
