Music is about life

About Me

"My sense of the holy is bound up with the hope that some day my remote descendants will live in a global civilization in which love is pretty much the only law."

- Richard Rorty, an American philosopher who died on June 8 2007, aged 75.

Ilpo Jauhiainen (b. 1977 Finland) is a composer, sound artist and writer. He doesn't take himself too seriously, only when it comes to make something worthwhile happen. His musical interest tends to drift towards ephemeral, possible, probable, futuristic, taut, oddly sensuous, delicately moving. He loves to sit in sunsets for rather long time.

Studied BA Sonic Arts at the Middlesex University, London UK, 1999 to 2003. Often working in cross platform/multidisciplinary applications, from purely music to art installations, dance and performance to film and theatre. Currently living in Helsinki.

Zooming In, Reaching Out

Lately I've been feeling refreshingly happy, elevated, in great spirits: full of blood, loving life for all it's got to give (to quote a lyric from Bowie). I wonder what gave rise to this state? Well,...

Subtle residues from the well-used notebooks

I'm sitting in my room. Through the huge window sunshine and clear blue sky filter inside and create a soft background of light. The space bathes in a luminous bliss. Speakers in the room emit the del...
