About Me

Please note that I no longer use MySpace, for anybody on Facebook who have not added me as a friend on there, you can find my profile here .
Dispensing with the highly predictable expected formalities, I'm a well-read, creative, deceptively intelligent (and extremely modest! ) freelance web designer working my way towards global domination and the perfect hairstyle.
I'm naturally a pretty quiet and reserved guy with a touch of aloofness and arrogance (as comes with the territory of being great), perhaps a little too quiet for a lot of people's tastes (read: boring) - quintessentially "old-school" British - but I'm always friendly, and when I am in my element I tend to open up and can be a lot of fun to be around.
I am an atheist. I used to consider myself agnostic - there's no proof that God exists, nor proof that He doesn't exist, but history says to me that God as is represented in all modern religions is no more likely to be real than the gods worshipped by the ancient civilizaions of our planet's past.
As passé as the opinion has become nowadays, I also consider organized religion to be a dangerous thing - religion to the individual is good within certain boundaries, but religion on a mass scale is a problem for society and I make no apologies for this belief. I respect the rights and beliefs of those who believe in what I do not, but I do not respect the so-called "right" to attempt to convert or "save" those who hold different beliefs.
I love music. I spend 99% of my free time listening to a wide range of music, and try to get to as many gigs as I can (although given that I don't have that much free time, it's usually limited to what's going on in town) - it's fair to say I'd rather be blind than deaf. For those curious types, my favourite bands at the moment are 30 Seconds To Mars , Orgy , theSTART , and the Gathering . You could probably add another half-dozen names to that list, but I won't - just check the list on the right for a good (but by no means comprehensive) idea of what I listen to.
One of my great passions in life is travelling, although I have had very few opportunities to indulge in this passion in my adult life. Among my favourite places to be are New Jersey (tucked away among the trees in West Milford, and hanging out at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, to be precise) which reminds me a lot of home, New Orleans during Mardi Gras season (a "veteran" of two and counting), and in the Scottish countryside. In the years to come, I plan to visit Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Japan, New Zealand, India, and at least one South American country. I'd love to become a "professional" storm-chaser, combining my love of travel with my worrying fondness for extreme bad weather - especially the rain!
Another passion of mine is the arts. Until recent work commitments put it on hiatus, I was in the process of recording an EBM-cum-Goth rock album with my one-man studio project, Mnemento - although it's now starting to move towards an orchestral style. I also dabble in acting (nothing big, but I've turned up in a few comedic indie and student flicks), writing short stories, screenplays and studies.
I have an almost unquenchable thirst for information, and will plough through several reference books a week - be the subject weather cycles, astronomy, geography, conspiracy theories, history (I'm a major history buff), unexplained phenomena, religion, geology, or even plain old-fashioned politics, it just doesn't matter. The downside is I have an informed opinion on almost any subject, which - when coupled with my skills in multiple trades - does tend to land me with a "Know It All" and "I'm Always Right" reputation!
I always look out for my friends and make time for them, and I consider myself fortunate to have a close-knit group of local friends (we've all known each other for the better part of two decades) and a wide variety of close friends abroad. It's something of a running joke that I know so many people I could travel around the world twice in one trip and never have to stay at a single hotel!
Me and my peeps:

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

As a rule I don't send out friend requests, and I'm being a little more picky about who I accept requests from. To be honest, I've never really set any limits on the kind of people I befriend. I devote a lot of love, care and time to my friends (sometimes too much, it has been said), and I don't like to see that wasted on someone who doesn't appreciate or return it.
