"HOME"
Full length music video following the misfortune of a Hermit crab after having it's shell stolen in a baron and hostile place.

This video was produced at home on my PC as an attempt to make our own animated videos for our songs. It started during the process of writing the music for 'Home' when matt remembered seeing a wildlife documentary showing hermit crabs fighting over some territory and suggested this idea as a parallel story for the song. I then remembered 'scrat' from the 'ice age' movie and then i used my past experience of being homeless to set the theme for the story.

SMARTBOX are a 2 piece band from south london. We consist of a lead vocalist / bass player (Wayne Maslin) and a drummer (Matt Pittori) who controls a sequencer when we play live on stage. The sequences are played out by using a CD player, minidisc or Mp3 player which is plugged into the PA, triggering off some pre-recorded guitars, backing vocals, synths and samples to complete a surprisingly powerful and unique hard rock orientated sound.
We have been making music together on and off for 8 years in total. We used to be known as 'DBV' (Drums, Bass & Voice) originally, and it was exactly the same setup as what we have now. DBV ended in 2000 due to unforeseen circumstances that were beyond our control.
We reformed again in 2002, involving ourselves in various musical projects as well as our own ( Bikini Royale , Tinks ).
We also released our self-produced debut album, titled "HOME" in 2006 and we're now recording new material for a forthcoming EP available soon.
