In the past I have been called immature, aimless, drifting, with an inability to grow up and join the adult world! Some have called me Peter pan at times...Peter Pan of course refused to go with Wendy and the Lost Boys and grow up. "Jayfeather" is written from the point of view of Peter in his jayfeather coat many years later. He imagines that he and the Lost Boys had been a band, they have now matured and he hears their music playing on the radio. He comes back to Wendy's window and begs to be let in. He is tired of being an eternal child floating cold and alone and wants to grow old with Wendy. The problem is that all his playmates have now moved on and grown old while he refused to mature.Sigh... it's a sad song all about lost chances and immaturity and lack of foresight, and regret and sorrow... and I hope you like it!!!Personally I am still trying to get myself well, but work keeps getting in the way. I am now off to a soaking wet muddy field near Glastonbury. I will sit in a quagmire and stare in awe and admiration at Newton Faulkner and my hero John Mayer...Squelch squelch..... and still OUCH!!!
