Area 51

TOP Rock Band! Keep Fighting For Live Music!

About Me

Area 51 was put together in early 2006 when Harry made a phone call to Gareth to start writing their own material.
Their intention was always to become one of Cornwall's top rock bands - at least for starters.
They were then joined by Simon on bass - who both Harry and Gareth had played with live before. The search for a drummer wasn't quite so easy. The band auditioned numerous drummers but soon found not many of them could even keep a beat throughout an entire song! Then Gareth saw an advert in a local newspaper and made a call to Mike - who just blew the band away with his technical ability. Within minutes of visiting Mike's house, the guys just had to ask him to join!
They've been touring round Cornwall since May 06 (about a month or so after they got together for their first rehearsal) and began introducing their own material in November.
So, if you're after classic and modern rock songs authentically performed with passion and energy then there is simply one band guaranteed to deliver.
Area 51 is a band which lives and breathes rock music. It's four members are a supreme example of a band that was meant to be together - they have a natural flair and onstage bond which creates a powerful and exciting performance.
Even though the band was only put together early in 2006, their chemistry was instantaneous and is apparant in their live performance. Many have commented that Area 51 plays like a unit that has been together for years...not months.
Since hitting the live scene at the end of May, they have already become a force to be reckoned with and one of the top rock cover bands in Cornwall.
But lets not forget the band was put together to play original material - and make no mistake - they are willing to work their asses off!!_____________________VIDEO - "NOT THE SAME"
