BELOW ARE SOME OF MY PHOTO'S TAKEN AT PLACES I HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO VISIT, THESE ARE ALL ON WEBSHOTS
I started playing Drums in the 60's aged 11 playing in bands a lot older than myself and being sneaked through the back door of the King Alfred pub (with the LEGENDS) Chippenham so the Landlord wouldn't see me. Before that from about aged 9 I used to pinch my mums knitting needles and bash out on balloons and biscuit tins. My first kit was a BROADWAY (John Grey & Son) and how I started to teach myself I would play along to an album by the great SANDY NELSON “Let there be drums†on the B side was a track called “Birth of the beat†which went from a single beat then doubling up etc right through to the title track. I would recommend this album for anyone starting out on the drums!
I turned pro in 71 with a local Bath band STEEL PEACH we toured the country doing a lot of major supports from STATUS QUO to BILL HALEY AND THE COMETS as well as our own tours, We also supported the great Irish band FRUUPP and I am glad to have MARTIN FOYE the excellent drummer as a friend on myspace. But sadly STEEL PEACH came to an end three years later. As I was Still signed to MIKE BOWMAN "Buffalo management" he wanted me to join a Big Rock n Roll outfit from Derby called THE EARTHQUAKES very Similar to local rivals SHOWADDYWADDY who often showed up at our gigs in their Ford Mustangs, That lasted about a year and With more family on the way it was time to get a proper job...... Since then I have played with various local bands, FIVE OF CLUBS, ITCHI FEET, THE SOUL DESTROYERS. As well as doing session work, I have done Several Recording sessions, One was Back in 1995 I did a recording with MODESTY BLAISE a band from Bristol on the track Most Beautiful, I have also played with various Cover bands and have done a Lot of Deps........... I currently play with BLUES REVIEWED with a fantastic line up consisting of Vocalist COLETT CASSIN, Guitarist & vocalist KEVIN ROMANG, Saxophonist DEREK HEAD, PETE LAMB on Bass and myself on drums.
PHOTOGRAPHY: lots of new concert photos especially of Marillion. I will be upgrading my photography equipment very soon to a nice DSLR perhaps a Canon, Sony or Nikon and then perhaps I will be able to compete with the professionals. At the moment I use a Fuji S7000 and sometimes a Fuji S9500 both are great cameras but are just lacking that little bit of quality that a full SLR camera has ...........................................................
