TROY ELLIS & THE LONGSHOTS The Longshots are a West Country based six piece band dedicated to providing an extraordinary evening of Reggae entertainment, guaranteed to get you jumping to Ska through Rock Steady, Roots and Lovers Rock to the classics of Bob Marley. Formed in 2005, Longshots are fronted by one of the best Jamaican singers in the area, backed by a superb line up of experienced musicians, whose passion is to bring you the authentic sound of the Caribbean. Powerful vocal performance combined with rock solid drum 'n' bass and wicked guitars and keyboards creating the music to get your body moving and your spirit grooving.

Troy Ellis (lead vocals, percussion)
One of the sons of the legendary Alton Ellis O.D (Order of Distinction from the Governor of Jamaica) Troy has worked with many of the legends of Jamaican music while working with his father, including performing at the reggae awards show at The Royal Albert Hall which has been one of the most memorable moments performing with his father. His father has been the biggest influence in Troys music career. Troy has been dancing and playing since a young boy and is a charismatic performer who wins over the crowd at every gig.
Steve Loudoun(rhythm guitar and backing vocals): Frontman of Skeeters who has played at Glastonbury Festival. He has also appeared with The Scratch Band at various festivals and performed duos with Steve Payne(ex Bonnie Rait) and Paul Hartshorn.
Sir John(Gypie)Mayo(lead guitar and melody guitar): He has toured the world with Doctor Feelgood taking over from Wilko Johnson and more recently with the Yardbirds. A well respected session musician his reputation as one of the best in Britain precedes him.
Tim Polson(drums): A co-founder member of Longshots has gigged extensively both home and abroad,signed to BMG with his own band in the early 90s; then toured and recorded with Hugh Cornwell(formerly of the Stranglers).
Dave Aaronson(bass): The other co-founder of the Longshots; formerly with reggae outfit The Emeralds who performed at Glastonbury in the mid-90s; experienced in jazz, R&B,blues and techno crossover;signed to Welsh Indie label Rasp with Kald. He also has numerous TV apperances and sessions recordings to his name.
David (Papa D) Oakley(keyboards): Well experienced musician playing with various London based reggae bands which included The Ardliners also euro work with maroon town, a well respected producer @ catch a fire studios & Bravetone Productions....
Lionel (Adjin) Andy (Backing Vocals and percussion) A well respected singer from outta north west London . Extensive world wide tours behind him singing with the legendary father of Troy Ellis Alton Ellis O.D . Lionel has always been an inspiration to Troy and continues to show his versatile talents ....
