Mitchell on saxophone, from the well-known Marcus Johnson Project. Marcus H. Mitchell is also the youngest independent executive to be on the voting committee for the Grammy Awards.The members are a very eclectic selection of musicians ranging in age from their 20s to their 40s in age. Although theyve been playing together for less than a year, this talented group has been invited to play in various locations.During Labor Day weekend 2005, they performed at the 3rd Annual Jazz Festival at Cooper's Field in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, sharing the stage with Paul Taylor, Peter White and the Rippingtons (featuring Russ Freeman). In October 2005 they headlined at the legendary Blues Alley Jazz Club in Washington, D.C. In addition, the Marcus Mitchell Project was invited back to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to ring in the 2006 New Year with another outstanding performance.
