JJ's gradual rise to recognition has been as painstaking as it has been warranted. Since taking up DJing in 1999, JJ has been complimented by all those who have witnessed his especially tight mixing skills and expert selection in a range of genres, from R 'n' B, Hip hop and old-school Garage through to Bashment, Soca & Grime as well as others. Starting off by DJing at house parties, and receiving more than a fair share of positive feedback, JJ gradually progressed to pirate radio, hitting radio with Squadron Camp on Tuesday nights between the hours of 8 and 10. The crew disbanded in late 2005, but JJ, having been affiliated with Menace2Society hitherto the split, put his lot in with them and, more recently, has also become a part of the StraightVibez movement. Despite his involvement with two crews, however, JJ is by all accounts a solo DJ, and by far his most notable achievement thus far in his fledgling career has been to land a resident DJ slot on the Steve Sutherland show on Galaxy FM, a position which has enabled him to showcase his mixing talent worldwide. JJ is also involved, to a lesser extent, with music production, and followers should look out for collaborations with a couple of established MCs in the scene. You can catch JJ on Saturday from 9-11pm & Sunday from 9pm- 1am Galaxy FM* on the Steve Sutherland show. For general enquiries, including bookings, collabs etc, you can send JJ a message.
