Marcus Horatio Mitchell
Marcus Horatio Mitchell was born on March 24, 1983 in Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. Â The dreams of this future millionaire began while he was attending high school at Crossland High School in Temple Hills, Maryland. Â While in high school, Marcus received most of his business knowledge while working as an in-house consultant and producer for Mathew Knowles Music World. Â Mathew Knowles is the father of famous singer/actress/songwriter Beyonce Knowles.
While working closely with Mathew and the powerful group Destiny's Child, Marcus arranged for Destiny's Child to perform at President George W. Bush's victory party in 2001. Â From there, Marcus took all that he learned from Mathew Knowles and formed 24th Music.
By 2001, Marcus graduated from high school with a 3.8 GPA and matriculated to Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, the oldest HBCU in the south, where he studied Journalism. Â While attending Shaw, Marcus operated 24th Music and also performed all around Raleigh with the N-Tune Band. Â His name quickly became well known, making him one of the most viewed acts in the Triangle area. Â Marcus quickly made a name for himself and by his senior he was able to obtain an investment from Frankie Perry of Wachovia Bank to help jumpstart 24th Music. Marcus has worked with many artists such as Mike Phillips, Kim Waters, Marcus Johnson, and Destiny's Child just to name a few.
2005 brought more success for young Marcus.  On September 5th, Labor Day weekend, he performed at the 3rd Annual Jazz Festival at Cooper's Field in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where he shared the stage with Paul Taylor, Peter White and the Rippingtons (featuring Russ Freeman).  He also headlined at the legendary Blues Alley Jazz Club in Washington, D.C.  In addition he headlined at North Carolina’s renowned Jazz Café.  Furthermore, Mitchell's CD entitled "Jumpin'" is the first release under 24th Music and is being distributed nationwide.  His second CD release “R&R†is also being released nationwide under 24 th Music.
In 2006, Marcus made history by becoming the youngest independent executive to be on the voting committee for the Grammy Awards.  He also headlined again at Blues Alley and the Jazz Café.  Moreover, he began working on building a state-of-the-art office complex that will house a fully functional recording studio and will release more projects.
At a young age, Marcus H. Mitchell has achieved so many accomplishments and he continues to be a driving force in the industry
