Music has always been a special part of Mtjazz who began playing the saxophone in the Sixth Grade Band. She comes from a musical family. Both parents are musicians. Mother plays piano, sings, and father plays guitar. All six of her siblings are musicians.Mtjazz decided to continue playing saxophone throughout college. She has a Bachelor of Music degree in saxophone from Houston Baptist University and an All-level certification in music from the University of Houston. Currently, she teaches Elementary music at a school and is recording her CD. Her project will consist of both cover and original songs. Mtjazz continues to perform at various venues in Houston and surrounding areas. She has performed with local bands in places such as Sullivans, Sambucas, Crabby Daddys, Plaza 59, Red Cat Jazz Cafe, and West 57.Her goal is to inspire many people with her music and perform around the world. She believes her inspiration comes from God, her family, friends, and many musical giants. She has teamed up with Soul Foundry studios and looks forward to more future collaborations.
