What's poppin peoples! Welcome to Tim's world Tim's world party on dude excellent :o)
Straight to the point I guess - music is my main passion. I have been djing for 15 years and producing for about 5 to 6. I used to be part of BAITERCELL AND SCHUMACHER (who bought you "What's Down Low") but I have now gone solo and am working on my album for release in 2007. I have a broad interest through most genre's (hip hop - specially southern atm, country, jazz, ska) and have my head deep inside breakbeat and electronica. I have a mad obsession with Grace Jones and Fleetwood Mac also - even though Stevie Nicks sounds like a wounded cat about 90% of the time. "T.R.O.Y" by Pete Rock and CL Smooth is one of my favourite hip hop tunes of all time.
I am a movie buff and site "Taxi Driver" by Martin Scorcese as one of the most influential film experiences of my life. I am also a massive John Leigh fan and have a penchant for really bad 80's US comedy (Caddyshack, National Lampoons and anything with Rodney Dangerfeild - lets face it, "Back To School" is an absolute classic).
I have also done a bit of acting and appear in wigs and glasses in a few substandard NZ/US co produced made for TV drama shows ("Kalus" in Xena Warrior Princess and "Morris Banks" in Murder In Greenwich - which is my first ever nude sunbathing scene...I was really good...no, honest...). Apart from this I have done quite a bit of theatre including Shakespeare and some devised shows.
I live with the love of my life, my beautiful girl Thea in Avondale in Auckland and we have a 2 year old bull terrier named Fergus. He is the coolest little fella out :o)
Anyways, if you want to check out what I am up to with my music my bio is below...
I will leave you with an important quote...
"License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote"
Carl Spackler from the movie Caddyshack, 1980.
BIO :
Timmy remains the pioneer of breakbeat in Aoteroa with 15 years of undying service, smashing clubs, festivals and radio transmitters apart with his fearsome mixing skills and secret artillery of hot tunes. During this time he has played to massive numbers in the Boiler Room at BDO, played support for the Chemical Brothers to 4000 people at North Shore Stadium and rocked it to over 5 thousand sun baked beat freaks on two occasions at the bFM Summer Series. Timmy holds down a residency with bFM and has supported such acts as Adam Freeland, Freq Nasty, Rennie Pilgrem, Freestlyers, Stanton Warriors, Krafty Kuts, Tayo, Breakfastaz, Aquasky and even Moby! With massive releases such as his debut album THE WALL OF BASS TECHNIQUE plus a swag of internationally acclaimed tunes on labels like Aquasky’s PASSENGER (“What’s Down Low”), DJ Icey’s ZONE records, FUNKATECH, RESIN and APE records, Timmy has definitely made his mark on the global breaks scene and maintains plays/support from Freq Nasty, The Freestylers, DK (Ninja Tune Solid Steel show), Tayo and DJ Icey. Keep your ears peeled for Timmy’s debut solo long player plus a stonking colab with the Autobots forthcoming on BROKE records.
